World-famous Japanese quilter, designer, teacher, and shop owner Yoko Saito delights with this book that focuses on quilts, bags, and other projects made primarily of wool and yarn-dyed homespun fabrics. Instructions are included for rug hooking, needle-felting, piecework, and applique. The projects, practical with a touch of whimsy, will have you scouring closets for no-longer-used woolen clothing to turn into something fun and new.

Celebrated Japanese quilt artist Yoko Saito is well-known for her detailed work and unique use of taupe color palettes. She learned to quilt after seeing antique quilts in America and has been inspired over the years to create her own style and designs. A prolific author of quilt books, she also designs fabric and her patterns are often seen in Japanese quilt and crafting magazines. In addition, she appears in various media, and has had her own television series called Fashion Workshop, broadcast by NHK TV. She serves as an instructor at the NHK Culture Center, Nihon Vogue Gakuen, and is a member of the Japan Needlework Exhibit. She currently owns and runs a quilt shop and school called Quilt Party in Chiba Prefecture, just outside of Tokyo.
